Rain Proof GPS From Garmin

But now there is help for the cyclists, who often drive the wrong way. Garmin is launching a special version of their popular Nüvi series, which is intended for bike people. Popular said, Garmin has taken the Nüvi and made it waterproof, and fitted it with the possibility of both topographical maps and nautical charts. In the Nüvi is a new 2009 European map from Navteq. As available accessories are bike / scooter-fitting, TMC, extra battery and bag.
The operation of the Nüvi 550 keeps Garmin’s excellent user interface, where the operation is simple. GPS can be configured for use either by running, by walking, biking or at sea – sailing.
No water freight
The ability to move the Nüvi between mountain bike, car and yacht require high levels of sustainability. Garmin already produces a range of outdoor products, and the new Nüvi 550 draws on experience from those. Thus, the waterproof and meets IPX7 standard. This means that it is able to lie in the water for up to 30 minutes, without taking damage.
Unlike in the car, it is difficult to get your GPS charged when bicycling. Hence the greater demands on the battery. According Garmin itself, the battery time on Nüvi 500-series is up to four hours, which probably covers most exercise cycling needs.
