Jake’s Journal: Tyler, Julian and the train steamroll to another Giro win

I’ll keep this short as I’m heading out to the start of Tour of California’s stage 3 here in San Francisco.

But I had to share some great news from across the pond, where moments ago Julian “Kiwi Guy” Dean and Team Garmin’s leadout train (the guys who put our sprint specialists in position to win) did their job to perfection as top American sprinter Tyler Farrar scored his second stage win of the Giro d’Italia and Julian finished third.

You’ll notice that Tyler isn’t wearing his typical argyle kit at the finish line, and that’s because he’s currently leading this grand tour in points accumulated through sprints and bonuses.

When it comes to Tyler and Team Garmin in Italy, we love seeing red.
