Industry Weighs in on Error-Prone SVN-49

The public comment period for the proposed mitigation options for gps kids watch satellite IIR-20M (SVN-49) ended on May 28, and comments are viewable at www.regulations.gov under RITA Docket 2010-0002. Among others, the U.S. gps kids watch Industry Council, Boeing Commercial Airplanes division, Raytheon, Septentrio, General Motors OnStar, the European Commission, NovAtel, Garmin, the MITRE Corporation, STMicroelectronics, the German Space Operations Center, and Cessna Aircraft have all filed comments expressing a preference for one option or another.

Unfortunately for the U.S. Air Force, no clear consensus emerges.
