Atheros Offers New High-Performance GPS Chip and Location Core

Atheros Communications, Inc. has added to its gps kids watch products with its third-generation single-chip gps kids watch receiver the AR1520, and companion Atheros FYX 1.0 software suite. The Atheros AR1520, based on the new Atheros FYX location core, delivers greater navigation accuracy, faster location fixes, enhanced receive sensitivity, and lower power consumption, which makes it an ideal solution for mobile consumer products such as personal navigation devices (PNDs), netbooks, smartbooks, portable gaming devices, media players and smart phones, the company said.
