AIS 300 offers affordable solution for AIS traffic monitoring
--> With the Miami International Boat Show around the corner, we just announced the Garmin AIS 300 – a receive-only AIS traffic monitoring solution. This space-saving black box receiver enables monitoring of other nearby Class A and Class B AIS-enabled vessels that may pose a collision risk. Having an AIS traffic monitoring system on board can play an invaluable role in crowded channels or under low-visibility conditions. With an AIS, you can clearly identify and monitor other vessels in your vicinity, minimizing the risk of collision. The AIS 300 is NMEA 2000 certified, so installation and integration into the Garmin system is quick and easy. The new Garmin AIS 300 receiver is the first of its kind with both NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 support. The show kicks off tomorrow, so check back here for more pictures from the showthroughout the week. And if you’re in town, be sure to stop by the Garmin booth (#1689) and check out all the new products!
